Subscription, Cancellation & Refund Policy
1. Subscription Plans
SmartScan offers monthly recurring subscriptions: Starter ($9/mo), Pro ($29/mo), and Business ($79/mo). A Free tier is available without payment. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance.
Plan limits (daily scan quota, crawl pages, bulk URLs, scan history retention) are described on the Pricing page. Limits reset daily at midnight UTC.
2. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings (Profile → Billing → Cancel).
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Your paid features remain active until that date — you will not lose access immediately upon cancellation. After the billing period ends, your account automatically downgrades to the Free tier.
3. How to Cancel
- Go to your Dashboard
- Navigate to Profile → Billing
- Click "Cancel subscription"
- Your plan will remain active until the period end date shown
If you have trouble cancelling, contact support and we will process it manually within 1 business day.
4. Refund Policy
SmartScan extracts publicly available data from websites. Scan success depends on factors outside our control — including the target site's anti-bot protection, CAPTCHA systems, IP rate-limiting, login requirements, and geographic restrictions.
We strongly recommend using the Free or Guest tier first to verify that SmartScan works for your specific use case before purchasing a paid plan.
Refund requests are reviewed case-by-case. If you experience issues:
- Contact support with the affected URL(s) and approximate scan time
- We will review logs and attempt to resolve the issue
- If we cannot deliver the service as described, we may offer a full or partial refund, plan extension, or bonus scan credits at our discretion
Refunds are generally not issued for:
- Websites that deliberately block automated access (Cloudflare, CAPTCHAs, login walls)
- Scans that completed successfully but did not return the expected content
- Unused scan quota within a billing period
5. Free Trial / Free Tier
The Free tier (3 scans/day) is available without a payment method. We encourage you to use it to evaluate the Service before subscribing. There is no time limit on the Free tier.
6. Changes to Pricing
We may adjust pricing for future billing cycles. We will notify active subscribers at least 14 days before any price change takes effect. Existing subscribers may cancel without penalty before the new price applies.
