By accessing or using SmartScan ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
2. What SmartScan Does
SmartScan is a web data extraction tool that allows users to collect publicly available information from websites, including contact data, links, images, metadata, and structured content.
The Service operates on a best-effort basis. Extraction results depend on the structure, accessibility, and technical configuration of the target website.
3. Responsible Use
You agree to use SmartScan lawfully and in compliance with the terms of service of any website you scan. You must not use the Service to:
- Collect private, sensitive, or personal data without authorization
- Circumvent access controls, authentication systems, or security measures
- Generate excessive or abusive load on third-party servers
- Violate applicable laws, including privacy, data protection, and computer access laws
- Harvest data for spam, harassment, or other harmful purposes
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access in cases of abuse, excessive usage, or violation of these Terms.
4. Service Limitations
Some websites use anti-bot protection, CAPTCHAs, IP rate-limiting, or authentication walls that may prevent or limit extraction. SmartScan does not guarantee 100% compatibility with all websites. We strongly recommend testing with a Free or Guest account before upgrading.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time as we improve the Service.
5. Accounts and Plans
Registered accounts are subject to daily usage limits and feature quotas based on your plan. Sharing accounts or attempting to circumvent limits is not permitted.
6. Intellectual Property
SmartScan and its underlying technology remain the property of their respective owners. Extracted data belongs to the user and the source website. SmartScan does not claim ownership of any data extracted through the Service.
7. Limitation of Liability
SmartScan is not responsible for how extracted data is used, stored, shared, or processed by users. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with applicable laws and website terms of service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SmartScan's liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid by you for the Service in the preceding 30 days.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. We will note the revision date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
9. Payments & Billing
All payments are processed by Paddle (paddle.com), who acts as our Merchant of Record. By purchasing a subscription, you also agree to Paddle's Terms of Service. Paddle handles all payment processing, tax collection, and refund administration.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If unresolved, disputes may be submitted to binding arbitration or competent courts.
